How to access your Cloud Vault

How it works
Your Cloud Vault password creates the key that protects your backup. That password is never uploaded to our servers, so we cannot unlock your encrypted content.
Encrypted before it leaves your device
Your files are already encrypted in the app. Cloud Vault adds another layer of AES-256 encryption on your device before uploading them.
Your password is the secret
Cloud Vault uses Argon2id for password hashing. Your Cloud Vault password supplies the secret used to create your encryption key, and you need that same password to decrypt the backup on another device.
We store the encrypted backup, but cannot read it
Our team cannot decrypt or view your backed-up photos and videos. This is what zero-knowledge encryption means for your Cloud Vault content.
Argon2id protects the password through hashing; AES-256 encrypts your photos and videos. Cloud files also receive an additional layer of encryption at rest.
Choose a strong cloud vault password
Cloud Vault already uses strong security measures: AES-256 encryption, Argon2id password hashing and additional encryption at rest. A long, random, unique password strengthens that protection by making your password-derived encryption key harder to guess.
- Make it long. Aim for at least 16 characters. A password manager can generate one for you.
- Make it unpredictable. Avoid names, birthdays, common phrases and simple patterns.
- Use it only for Cloud Vault. Choose a different password from your other accounts and app passcode.

Set up Cloud Vault in the app
Cloud Vault requires Premium, an account and internet for backup and sync.
Enable Cloud Vault
Open the latest app and go to Settings → Cloud Vault. Follow the Premium and account setup prompts.
Create and save your password
Choose a strong Cloud Vault password and keep a safe record of it.
Let the backup finish
Wait for your files to upload before accessing your backup in the app on another device.
Cloud Vault questions
Are my photos backed up automatically when I install the app?
No. Using the on-device vault does not enable Cloud Vault. You must set up Cloud Vault and let your files finish uploading. Files stored only on your phone are not a separate cloud backup.
Can your team see my backed-up files?
No. Cloud Vault encrypts files on your device with a key created from your Cloud Vault password before uploading them. Your password is never sent to us, so our team cannot decrypt or view the photos and videos in your backup.
Can I use Cloud Vault in a web browser?
No. Our app access guide explains how to open Cloud Vault on your phone. There is no browser login.
What if I forget my Cloud Vault password?
Your Cloud Vault password is never recoverable. It is never uploaded to our servers, so our team cannot retrieve it for you. Your app passcode and its recovery email cannot recover it either. If you can still access your files on a device, keep that access and contact support about your options before deleting the app or changing devices.
What should I check before deleting the app?
Deleting the app can remove files stored only on that device. Confirm that your Cloud Vault backup has completed before uninstalling. Phone-level backups are separate. Read the backup and recovery guidance.
What happens if premium expires?
The existing subscription FAQ explains that Cloud Backup is deleted when you switch to Basic, while photos in the app remain accessible. Review your stored files and backup options before changing plans.
