Choose an appearance that suits how you like to view your private collection. Light and dark modes are presentation choices; the app’s privacy controls remain the place to manage access.
Discretion and protection work together
A less conspicuous icon can make the app feel more discreet, but it does not make the installation undetectable. The separate vault lock and AES encryption provide the protection for the files inside. Do not rely on the icon alone as a security control.

Does a custom icon hide the app everywhere on my phone?
No. A custom icon changes its appearance; it is not a promise that the app is invisible in system settings or other device views.
Is dark mode a privacy setting?
Dark mode changes appearance. Use the vault lock, album passwords and other access settings to control privacy.
